The Ginger Pig
UXUI | Brand Design
The website redesign focused on simplifying the user experience by reducing cognitive load and improving navigation, particularly within the book class and recipe sections. Content was streamlined to create a more intuitive and seamless journey. A burgundy color palette was intentionally selected to strengthen brand consistency while evoking the warmth and character of a traditional butcher shop. The logo was thoughtfully designed to subtly reference the idea of a pig through refined, understated details, allowing it to feel sophisticated rather than overly literal. Altogether, these design decisions create a cohesive, visually engaging experience that encourages users to explore and interact with the site.

Problem
When I looked at The Ginger Pig’s website, I noticed that, while functional, it posed navigation challenges—particularly in the book class and recipe sections. The site overwhelmed users with excessive information and a cluttered layout, making it hard for them to find what they needed. On top of that, the website lacked a consistent brand identity that reflected the charm and high-quality standards of The Ginger Pig.
Objectives
The goal of this redesign is to make the site feel easier and more enjoyable to use. This starts with simplifying the navigation and cutting down on clutter, especially in the book class and recipe sections, so users can move through the site more naturally. It also focuses on strengthening the brand by using colors, imagery, and textures that better reflect The Ginger Pig’s personality and overall vibe. Ultimately, the intention is to create a cleaner, more intuitive experience that feels smooth, user-friendly, and easy to navigate.
Results
Reduced Cognitive Load: By simplifying navigation and reducing clutter, users now find it much easier to browse recipes and book classes.
Enhanced Brand Identity: The updated burgundy color scheme and vibrant imagery helped reinforce The Ginger Pig’s reputation as a high-quality, community-focused butcher shop.
Improved User Engagement: Users gave positive feedback, noting that the redesign made the site more accessible and enjoyable to explore.
